Dear Discover Long Island Partners and Welcome New Community Partners,In our effort to keep you informed and engaged in information and activities benefiting the industry during this trying time, please find the following updates:Business Impact Survey: Nassau County is working with Hofstra University to collect data regarding the impacts to local businesses. Suffolk County also has a business impact survey to collect information. Please take THIS 10 MINUTE SURVEY to let us know the impacts your businesses is feeling and we will share the results with both counties and track the data on a regional basis for a comprehensive Long Island impact.Federal Stimulus Package: Discover Long Island participated in a Congressional Town Hall call this morning with Long Island’s delegation. The Senate agreed upon, and is expected to vote on, a $2 Trillion federal aid package that includes immediate relief to many homes and businesses. The details of the package are not yet available, but will include low interest loans and grants for several industries and small businesses. DLI has been working closely with state and national advocacy groups including NYSHTA, US Travel Association and Destinations International to ensure that hotels, attractions and tourism related businesses are included in this stimulus package. We will continue to share the details as they emerge and will post helpful links on our DiscoverLongIsland.com/Partners page.New Community Partner Program: In order to serve our entire community during this challenging time, Discover Long Island has launched a FREE Community Partner program, providing assistance and resources to ALL of Long Island’s hospitality-related businesses. *Please note: ALL hotels are already partners and do not need to register for this program, but already have access to the partner portal. If you need help locating your login information please contact the Partner Relations Team.Virtual Calendar of Events: We want to showcase the incredible attractions and activities being offered on Long Island through virtual tours, classes, lectures, etc., so we are replacing our standard calendar of events with a Virtual Calendar of Events. Click the PARTNER PORTAL to load your event. Click HERE for a webinar on how businesses can set up your personal listing via our Partner Portal.Note to Hotel Partners: Our sales team has been reaching out to our hotel partners individually to gauge business impacts and offer any assistance possible. Many hotels are still operating at low occupancies and some have expressed closures. We are still continuing to attract and distribute leads for fall, winter and 2021 business. If you have a hotel closure please let us know so that we can continue to contact your team and, if you are still operating and have any creative tips or anecdotes for business success that we can share with other partners, we would love to hear from you.
