Sarah DeHavenon founded French Presse, a bedding and lifestyle boutique in the Amagansett Square, as a way to revive the natural joy of a slower era. She had witnessed much change in the Hamptons since being a child out here in the 60s and strived to create a space where people would feel welcome, tranquil, and present. In 2018, Sarah passed away after a courageous two-year battle with Glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer. In Memoriam, French Presse and Alec Baldwin are hosting an event to celebrate her life and raise awareness for the non-profit organization CancerCare, an organization dedicated to helping people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer. To be as inclusive as possible, the event will be free to the public. Live music will be provided by The Woodworkers, Lynn Blumenfeld and associated acts. Catering will be provided by Estia’s Little Kitchen, Art of Eating and Cavaniolas. Additionally, Mandala Yoga Center for Healing Arts will be hosting a communal chanting session. French Presse will be donating 15% of all proceeds from sales from the weekend (online and in-store) to CancerCare. There will be limited edition products available, as well as select sale items. There will be a silent auction—the proceeds of which will be donated to CancerCare. Additionally, the Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Foundation will provide a donation to the organization.
